SLM Council announces Prentice Norman, USCIS, as SLM Council Agency Chair
The Software License Management (SLM) Council is pleased to announce Prentice Norman, USCIS, to act as SLM Council Government Chair. Mr. Norman is currently leading the execution of technology strategy for technology platforms, partnerships, and external relationships in the Office of Information Technology at USCIS. Formerly the Chief, Strategic Vendor Management – US Department of Homeland Security, at USCIS. In his role at USCIS, Mr. Norman led the Agency in implementing SLM and ensuring IT cost and risk is minimized through the implementation of best practice process and tools. SLM Council leadership desired to have dedicated Government representative to assist in the development and help establish the direction of the SLM Council as its membership grows.
In this role as the SLM Council Government Chair, Mr. Norman will work with SLM Council staff to ensure the needs of government SLM Council members needs are met and will be instrumental in formalizing our SLM Council charter. Mr. Norman will be key in leading the strategic direction for the SLM Council, enabling Federal members with the necessary insight, advice, and education associated with effective software license management in the government.
The SLM Council was created for the sole purpose of helping Government SLM staff on best practice understanding and implementation of Software License Management. These efforts help government stakeholders better manage their IT assets for cost, cybersecurity, and key Federal mandates including FITARA, MEGABYTE, and other relevant OMB directives.
